Please can you be praying for Tom Hubble. He has just been rushed into A&E having had fast heart beat and struggling to breath.

That’s all the info we have at the moment. Ask God to move mightily in this situation; he can and will.

UPDATE (11/11/11):

Tom was sent home last night. No scan was needed. He’s much happier knowing his heart is ok! Thanks for praying.

UPDATE (16/11/11):

Tom has been taken back into hospital. His heart has been racing since 2pm this afternoon, not slowing down. The family are all feeling quite panicked. Please keep praying.

It would be great if you could be praying for Ruth Hill’s dad, Andrew. He has been unwell recently and doctors believe he may have contracted Motor Neurone Disease.

Please pray that he will receive revelation for how to respond to the condition, but also pray that the Lord would move supernaturallly in his life and bring complete healing.

We received this prayer request from Del Bostock:

Please be praying for a friend of ours called Neil, in his late 60s. He is usually fit and active, but he just found out that he has cancer oh his lung, pancreas and liver. He has a wife, Joyce, and a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Ash. Neil is is in hospital now and has been told that all of the cancers are treatable, but he will know more this week. It has been a big shock to them all, particularly for Joyce, who suffers with health problems herself.

We know God can heal, so pray that he does! Pray too that he is with the family, bringing them peace and trust in Him.

UPDATE – 31st AUGUST:

Neil has had biopsies and it turns out the one on his lung may not be cancer. He’s waiting to hear when his chemotherapy will start and is now at home getting his strength back. Joyce told Del last week that she is absolutely shattered. Please keep praying.

UPDATE – 2nd OCTOBER:

Neil starts chemoteraphy this coming Tuesday (4th) which is his birthday. Initially they were given a choice of chemo or a new drug trial and had decided to go for the trial. Unfortunately the conditions of the trial weren’t properly explained and this has been difficult for them. It’s also Joyce’s 70th birthday on Saturday.

UPDATE – 10th OCTOBER:

Neil has started his chemotherapy now, so please pray for no side effects. The big problem at the moment is that he is hardly getting any sleep. Pray that Jesus will be so real to the whole family, and that he would comfort and strengthen them all.

UPDATE – 7th NOVEMBER:

Neil has been in hopsital for the last week or so, due to sickness, He can’t eat at all, but can drink and is on many drips. he has permanent hiccups unless he is being sedated. He also has a blockage in his duodenum and will have an operation on this either today or tomorrow. If this is successful he will be able to go home. Please keep praying for Neil, and for Joyce and Ruth as well – that they would know God’s peace, love and joy.

Please be praying for Sharon as she undergoes an operation on a disc in her neck; it is happening as we speak.

Ask God to be with those performing the operation and to surround both Sharon and her husband, Stuart, with his peace.

1 Corinthians 13:13 

We’ve all seen what’s going on across the country this week. Obviously we need to pray. We always need to pray, not just in response to events but because God’s strength is our only strength. But how can we best pray in the light of these riots…

1. Pray for the “rioters”. Particularly the youth, who seem to be the main people group involved. Pray for a revelation of God’s love – the most powerful force in the universe. Ask God to reveal destinies; to show there is hope, a future. Pray for their families – that they would be families. Ask for God to show us all just how he sees them – worth dying for. These are kids of immense value – they need to know that.

2. Pray for a spirit of peace. Stand against the enemy’s schemes to bring conflict and violence. Declare peace and goodness and calm. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.” – 2 Tim 1:7

3. Pray for Manchester. That peace and calm would reign here, and that God’s presence in our streets would be so overwhelming that civil unrest would be the furthest thing from people’s minds.

4. Pray for “Daniels” – godly people of wisdom and influence. Ask for God to raise these people up, to give them strategy and insight, and the opportunity to dispense them, particularly in governments and police forces.

5. Pray for the church. That we would be who we’re called to be: ambassadors; ministers of reconciliation communicating God’s beautiful plan for our country and our cities.

6. Pray for the police and other public serviceman. Pray that the Lord would strengthen them and encourage them, and that he would equip and empower them for excellence.

7. Pray against hysteria. God has not given us a spirit of fear! Even in the face of intense media coverage, pray that we would choose to see the good of what God is doing – the community spirit he is creating, the healing that he will bring through these events. He is good all the time, let us remember that above all things.

We believe that our country has been called according to God’s purpose – he will work all things together for our good!!

While you’re at it, pray as well that the Lord continues to move powerfully throughout the rest of the festival – from the sounds of things it has been an exciting week already!
